Balyasny Asset Management Expands London Team with Former Goldman Sachs Director Aditya Singh

Balyasny Asset Management, the multi-strategy hedge fund firm established by Dmitry Balyasny, has appointed Aditya Singh as a macro portfolio manager, according to a report from Financial News. Singh, a former director at Goldman Sachs, will join the firm’s London office in November, bringing a wealth of experience to the role. Sources familiar with the matter confirmed his appointment.
Singh’s background includes five years at Goldman Sachs, where he advanced to Executive Director in 2019. Prior to his time at Goldman, he spent four years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, further enhancing his expertise in macroeconomic strategies.
Balyasny Asset Management, which manages over $20 billion in assets, has been actively expanding its London team since the beginning of 2024. Earlier in the year, the firm recruited James Watson, a former portfolio manager at Brevan Howard and Millennium, as a senior portfolio manager in its London office. Moreover, George Tyrrell, another former Goldman Sachs executive director, also joined Balyasny as a portfolio manager in London, further strengthening the team.
Founded in 2001, Balyasny Asset Management has grown significantly, with over 1,900 employees across offices in the United States, Europe, Canada, the Middle East, and Asia. The firm operates 165 investment teams across six key strategies: equities long-short, equities arbitrage, macro, commodities, systematic, and growth equity. As it continues to expand, Balyasny has positioned itself as a leading player in the hedge fund industry, leveraging its diverse strategies and experienced team to navigate dynamic global markets effectively.
