Waystone, a prominent provider of specialised services to the global asset management sector, including administrative support for hedge funds, private equity, and other alternative investment vehicles, has appointed Nigel Pasea as its new Country Head for the Middle East. This strategic move underscores Waystone’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the region.
Pasea, who boasts over 40 years of experience in finance, governance, risk, and compliance, joined Waystone in 2021 as part of the acquisition of CCL Compliance. Over the past 18 years, he has developed an extensive network and deep understanding of the Middle Eastern market, playing a key role in leading the company’s compliance solutions business in the UAE, which has experienced significant growth under his leadership.
The Middle East has increasingly become a preferred location for international financial institutions due to its evolving regulatory environment and proximity to major capital pools. With this surge in interest from global players, Waystone aims to capitalise on the expanding market opportunities in the region.
Pervaiz Panjwani, Chief Product Officer at Waystone, highlighted the growing demand for asset management services in the Middle East, saying, “As asset managers look to expand in the region, we are focused on building a multidisciplinary, experienced team to drive that growth. Nigel’s impressive track record and his well-established local relationships make him perfectly positioned to lead this effort. I am confident he will play a crucial role in our next phase of expansion in the Middle East.”
Waystone currently employs 45 people in the UAE and has ambitious plans to further expand its operations across the Middle East in 2025. The company aims to support both regional and international clients by providing tailored solutions to meet the evolving needs of the asset management industry.
